Azure Cloud Engineer / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Job Location: Bristol  |  Hybrid

The role.

As Azure Cloud Engineer, you will

  • Deploy product updates, troubleshoot production issues, and implement cloud integrations.
  • Lead the implementation of Cloud solutions using infrastructure as code.
  • Contribute to technology evaluation and reengineering efforts.
  • Assist in defining and executing the cloud strategy.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools for cloud enablement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and architect solutions.
  • Enhance development and release processes through automation.
  • Ensure system security against cybersecurity threats.
  • Work closely with technical architects and developers to ensure smooth development processes.
  • Participate in project planning and management decisions.

Experience required.

We are looking for someone with

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering role.
  • Azure certification (Associate or above preferred).
  • Proficiency in Git, SQL Databases, and the Windows Stack.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative team spirit.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, Azure virtual networking, and Azure security principles.
  • Knowledge of Azure Compute, Storage, Webapps, and infrastructure as code tools.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and version control (Git).

Ideally, you will have a solid background in some of these preferred areas:

  • Good understanding of TCP/IP, Azure virtual networking, including of the following: VNETs, VWAN, Express Route and Virtual Network Gateways, (P2S and S2S), Hub & Spoke Network Topology, VPN Failover
  • Good Understanding of Application Gateways, Load Balancer, Azure Firewall and Front Door
  • Good Understanding of Azure Security Principals, including Managed Identities, Key Vault, Conditional Access and Azure Security Centre
  • Good Knowledge of Azure Compute, Storage, Webapps, Azure Migrate (ASR), Azure Site Recovery and Azure Backup
